FARAGE holds all the cards now. Any new PM will be beholden to him as long as he can at least make any demand for a general election stick.

Farage is surely finished, his work done, as we will leave the EU. He only ever had one club in his bag anyway.

He has the legitimacy of the popular vote in his hands to use. If Farage is any more than public schoolboy, he will know how to use it now.

I don't like the bloke but I thought Cameron's resignation speech was excellent. I would have liked him to hang around a little longer just to steady the ship though Boris is the only realistic option, if only as a night watchman None of the other political leaders have emerged from this with any credit whatsoever ~ particularly that bufoon Corbyn

I think Boris would galvanise the electorate. Most people seem to like him, because he portrays himself as a bit of a fool. A part he plays very convincingly.
Beware the wolf in sheep's clothing.

Whoever is next has the luxury of patting themselves on the back, if everything goes well in the near future, or blaming Farage and the voters if everything goes tits up.
Then again, that's pretty much the MO for all politicians all of the time.

If it wasn't for farage and his ukip party this wouldn't have happened so Cameron was forced to give concessions he didn't want to give and has come unstuck so I'm sure there's something for farage somewhere in all this. And he knows how Europe works better than anyone

Will the Tories who (rightly) demanded an election after Gordo became an unelected PM demand the same now?

Boris isn't as stupid as he looks, once the takeover is complete and he's firmly in Cameron's shoes he'll sit down on his comfy chair at No.10 and it'll dawn on him that he's just won the biggest pyrrrhic victory in political history.

lt'll be Boris I expect. May seems too weak. Gove actually has a lot of substance and ability, but lacks charisma.

Boris did well as London Mayor, in fact London boomed, much better than Livingstone who previously bankrupted the GLC. Kahn, don't even go there.
Boris will make a good Prime Minister, much better than Cameron, although that's not difficult.

Just saw Cameron's speech. I'd always thought him a bit of a cunt, in part because I simply hate all politicians. I thought he spoke well and came across as decent and dignified.
Not sure we'll get too much of that from his potential successors. I know nothing about this but regularly read that Boris is not overly popular within his party.
As for Gove having substance, he's been hiding it well if so.
